Lu Kang is Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee. He has extensive diplomatic experience, serving as Minister of the Chinese Embassy in Washington D.C. before returning to Beijing where he was Director of the Foreign Ministry’s Information Department and Director of the Department of North America and Oceanic Affairs. He was China’s Ambassador to Indonesia from 2021 to 2024, when he was appointed to his current position. Born in Nanjing, he spent three years at China’s permanent mission to the United Nations in New York.
